The shredded foam moves with your head instead of pushing back against it. It's hard to explain but it feels more like the pillow is cradling you rather than just sitting under you.
It's supportive without being stiff, which is exactly what I needed. Happy with it.
I was a little worried the shredded foam would clump up and leave weird gaps while I sleep, but honestly it stays put. I adjust it before bed and it just holds that shape through the night.
The cover has a noticeably cool, almost silky texture when you first lay on it. It doesn't stay ice cold all night but it definitely doesn't trap heat the way a regular cotton pillowcase does.
Very pleased with this. It does exactly what it says and feels like a quality item.
I've had a few adjustable pillows before and the zipper always felt cheap or the cover would pill up fast. This one feels genuinely well made, the cover is still smooth, and the zipper hasn't snagged once.
